Grilled Shrimp with Chesapeake Seafood Seasoning

Grilled Shrimp with Chesapeake Seafood Seasoning

There are so many great ways to use the Spicewalla Chesapeake Seafood Seasoning, but we find that it perfectly compliments these slightly smoky shrimp. Serve with boiled potatoes  and a side salad for a complete meal!

Grilled Shrimp with Spicewalla Chesapeake Seafood Seasoning

This simple marinade packs a series punch - but don't be tempted to let the shrimp marinate for longer than 30 minutes. The lemon juice will start to cook the shrimp and make them tough.

Ingredients

  • 1 large lemon
  • 2 cloves garlic, grated
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Spicewalla Chesapeake Seafood Seasoning
  • 1 pound jumbo (16/20) shrimp, peeled and deveined

Directions

  1. Heat a grill to high. If using a cast iron grill basket, preheat this along with your grill. A stainless steel grill basket will not need to be preheated (see notes).
  2. Juice half the lemon and add the juice to a large mixing bowl or marinade tray. Add the garlic, olive oil, and seasoning along with the shrimp. Toss to combine. Marinate for no more than 30 minutes.
  3. While shrimp marinades, cut the remaining lemon half into wedges and reserve for serving.
  4. Lightly oil the grill basket with a silicone basting brush. Transfer the shrimp from the marinade into the grill basket or directly on to the grill grates. Grill until well browned, about 2-4 minutes. Flip and cook until opaque throughout, 1-2 minutes.
  5. Transfer shrimp to a serving platter and garnish with lemon wedges.
